My HR didn't go up significantly after ablation either. My rate is in the 50's.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
They poked around and burned the tissue inside you. Think about how that might feel if it was on the outside, like your arm. It would be irritated and inflamed for a while. Your heart tissue has electric properties, which make the irritation show up as jumpy muscle tissue. It will get better. It will heal. How's your diet? Read about anti-inflammatory diets. It might help quiet things. Sby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Your experience sounds similar to mine. The first week post ablation was very quiet. The next couple weeks I had a lot of ectopy between 10 and 12 am, even some runs. It did eventually quiet. I had a short run that scared me right at the 3 month point, but then it's been pretty darn good!! I'm coming up on two years. Things are pretty quiet. I had one maybe 12 beat fast run a month ago,by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Singulair is another option. I don't think it has cardiac affects.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
I would trust your body. You might not know the reason right away, but trust your body. At the beginning of my journey a doctor told me to take magnesium. I used the product Calm and every time I tried it I'd have 3 hours of frequent ectopy. They told me that was impossible, it was magnesium, but multiple times I tried it and the same thing happened. I have since tried different products, onby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
I did not feel good on Eliquis. Mostly I remember having puffy eyes in the morning. I felt SOB too, but I think it was from the Flecainide or the combination of the two. Add flu on top and it could make SOB more noticeable. Infections affecting the lungs can take weeks to totally resolve. I also agree with the others on the mitral regard. I have been an echo tech for 30+ years. It is very commonby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Claritin works pretty well for me. As long as there isn't decongestant I don't notice heart effects. You may also try eliminating the big food allergens or follow an anti-inflammation diet. This makes a significant difference for me when allergens are high..by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
The posts above bring to mind Dr. Jason Fung and intermittent fasting. He gives options, for example eating in an 8- 12 hour window and not eating for 12-16 hours. Also, not eating in between meals. There are good youtube videos. It might be more doable with having multiple medical issues. Wishing you the best!!by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sorry you're having trouble. Have you had a respiratory infection, have asthma....? While I might use the rescue inhaler twice per day when having issues I emphasize more steroid inhaler. Most of the time I can get balance. I like Pulmicort 180. It's double the usual. At baseline I might take one puff twice per day. With an infection I would bump it up to 2 puffs twice per day. And I haby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had an ablation with Dr Natale 10 months ago and am off all drugs!!!by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
If you have pulmonary hypertension (PHTN), its cause is related to outcome. Some things are progressive, others are not. So don't go to worst case scenario reading online. I had a fungal infection in the past that cleared up. Because of some damage to my lungs I have had PHTN. It's mild and stable now. It probably influenced my a-fib. I am careful to avoid getting respiratory infectionby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
I believe the CT also shows your calcium score or your risk of coronary disease. A-fib can be caused by blockages/coronary arteries feed the conduction system. This would be important to know/rule out before the ablation.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, that helps. The ones I've noticed have been very short (not more than a dozen beats). Hopefully that's what they saw. I'm guessing, as in the past, some is at night and I don't always notice/am asleep.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just got the results of my post ablation Zio Patch today. In one breath I was told it's pretty good, less than 1% ectopic beats, and that I can safely come off the Eliquis. In the next breath the nurse said there were some tachycardia episodes. I'm not sure if they were atrial, supra-ventricular, or other. They want to repeat the Zio Patch in March. Since then I've been overthinkinby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM

After a certain age many cardiologists don't bring up cardioversion.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks all for easing my mind. I think they did give me Go-Lytely. However, the morning of they want me to add Mag. Citrate. Years ago when my palpitations started I was told to use "CALM", an over the counter magnesium supplement, and I believe, mag citrate. I tried it 3 times. Each time I got bad palpitations for 2 hours after taking. I will call today/don't want to take that. Atby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi, I'm almost 7 months post ablation and doing pretty well. I have my 60 year colonoscopy on Monday and am worried about rhythm issues during the prep. Any experience or advice out there?by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Louise, I'm an echo tech. What sticks out for me, besides what the others mentioned as a cause for your growing atria, is that you have mitral prolapse and your valve regurgitation has also grown. Your mitral valve may be complicating the picture. Like the chicken and the egg, it's hard to know whether the atria grow from the a-fib and then the valve leaks or your prolapse is worseby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
"Had an echo on Saturday and only thing of note as far as the cardiologist was concerned was calcified annulus and trivial MR in mitral valve. I'm awaiting a date for a CT as the cardio suggested checking on the scarring from the ablation, as there could be some narrowing due to how I've healed." You're young to have a calcified annulus. Kidney issues can pre-dispose tby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sending you support as well, Mike. I've had some similar experiences, but it got less and less. I'm about 4 months out and it's been pretty quiet as of late. I'm betting you will quiet down too.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Mark! I also get a premonition before a-fib. I had more ectopy the second week after my ablation, but it got better fast. I did occasionally have the premonition feeling, but my heart rhythm stayed pretty steady despite. It keeps getting better, I promise. Be kind to yourself: take time to relax, meditate, eat healthy.... whatever feels healing to you.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Joseph!! Your post sounds just like me. I've had two short episodes of a tachy rhythm, one that lasted seconds and another that was 15 minutes at most (and I think PAC's). I will try to be better with supplements too and look over all I can to work this out.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks everyone!! I'm only on Eliquis.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just past the three month mark and had a minor episode yesterday. I'm usually one to feel every ectopic, but didn't feel anything heart wise at first. I felt funny in my head, then noticed my heart rate pick up. It was in the low 100's. It was regular. I was sitting in a meeting at work. It lasted 10-15 minutes. I left the meeting and got my event monitor in my desk; I think I caby libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
Filling adds a component but the ejection fraction drop risk is higher the longer your rate is fast and chaotic. The ventricle gets tired. That may come back with rate control. Atrial enlargement is also affected by valve regurgitation.by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM

You guys are awesome, thanks for the info!! I've heard people talk about natokinase and there are other things that thin blood, like fish oil, garlic... Do you all take that after the blanking period for assurance without drugs?by libby - AFIBBERS FORUM
