If it's the same thing as I asked about a few weeks ago, then there were clinical trials involved. It certainly sounded interesting.Since my post is now over on the 2nd page, I'll repeat it here: From MedPage, but I've been finding this on a number of sites in the past few days - Nancy Noninvasive vagus nerve stimulation reduced atrial fibrillation (Afib, AF) burden in pby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've had two TEE's. Neither one was upsetting or harmful. I'd have no issue doing it again if necessary.by Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
From MedPage, but I've been finding this on a number of sites in the past few days - Nancy Noninvasive vagus nerve stimulation reduced atrial fibrillation (Afib, AF) burden in paroxysmal cases, a small sham-controlled trial showed. Low-level stimulation via a clip-on electrode at the tragus of the ear for 1 hour daily cut the percentage of time in Afib over a 2-week continuous monitby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Don't fear CPAP. You get used to it. I'm at the point now where I can't sleep without my machine (and when I left it at an airport TSA spot (they always go over them) I was in full panic mode and slept sitting up in a chair for 2 nights until I got it back. I am down to 1-2 AHI with the machine and it's been a life-saver, literally. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I eat salmon weekly. But only wild, which is freaking expensive, as I no longer live on the west coast. But I love it & would never touch farm raised salmon. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've used Bluebonnet Buffered/Chelated Magnesium for years. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm doing fine on Sotalol. I don't want to change it up unless I have to. Not looking forward to 3 days in the hospital again just to make a change that may or may not help. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had the heart echo test on Friday. This is after weeks of breathing being worse than normal and having a glass booth breathing test that showed I have big breathing issues. Doctor's review of my heart echo: The echocardiogram showed pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) which can be explained by the severe obstructive sleep apnea and severe airflow obstruction withby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been on Sotalol 190mg/day and Metropolol 100mg/day (150 when in afib) for several years now. No problems, no side effects. Have found a diet that works for me & have lost 45 pounds in past year & a half. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks George, I'm open to anything. Have done fasts in the past for other things (back when I was riddled with anxiety I used it as a calming function). Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sadly I'm not a candidate for ablation at this time due to weight issues. Consider surgery too risky. But have lost 40 lbs and am hoping to keep going & getting to good weight for life & surgery. In other news, the lung specialist put me in a glass booth for breathing tests. I've got an Echo scheduled for 3/15. Won't know anything for real decisions until then. I've let my EP know about this and he's ordered an Echo to see if it's Pulmonary Atrial Hypertension (PAH). Seeing pulmonary specialist this afternoon. I already have issues with slightly enlarged heart so we figure it's tied to that. It's from my weight over the decades. Although I've managed to lose 40 lbs. in the past year & have continued to succeed at that,by Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I will. I've been doing research online and it's depressing as all get out. Cheery articles about increasing life expectancy to 8 years from 3 and things like that. Although one very cheery article said it's possible to get 20 years. And here I thought afib was my biggest problem. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been having tons of phlegm issues, sinus draining/coughing up. Started to feel very weird yesterday so went to Urgent Care. Started with EKG, but among blood work was a D dimen, because of that result, had a CT scan and chest xray. Doc said I didn't have any blood clots in my lung (had pulmonary embolism 7 years ago), but did think I had pulmonary hypertension. Seeing lung doc onby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I don't have any history of getting dizzy while standing up. And this continued while I was laying down trying to sleep. I'll ask doc about adrenal fatigue. Fortunately it hasn't happened since. Then again, I've been out of afib since. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've had afib off/on since 2000. Usually pulse ranges from high 80s to 110s at highest. Occasionally can hit 130-140 for a second or two. But have never been dizzy while in afib until last night. During the night I woke to go to the bathroom & the room was spinning. And it didn't stop. Calmed down a bit after I sat up for a few minutes, but didn't go away. I was told there were problems with blood thinners (but what doesn't). Merry Christmas to all! Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've used Warfarin for years. I've got a diet that works with plenty of greens. It's not that you can't have them, it's that you have things regularly. And I like salads for lunch on workdays, so that's my routine. I've had weeks where I got tired of them and didn't have them, but no boogy men appeared. I'm perfectly fine and settled with it.by Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interesting (says the woman who takes Warfarin). But it also notes that the study was observational. It'll be interesting to see if specific studies hold this up. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a horribly stressful period in my life and that caused lots of hair loss (I too have long hair that stylists always commented on as "so incredibly rich!") So you can imagine my freak out. Dermatologist told me that things like this happen but that in 3-4 months it would stop, and it did. Doctor suggested B-6, so I've been doing those vitamins and shampoo for over a year, tryiby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM

I was devoted to Bluebonnet's chelated/albion magnesium capsules, since that ended I've been using a variety of powders. Doctor's Best doesn't seem to be working for me, so sticking to the powders. I was wondering if you had any suggestions as the best one/s to use? Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dehydration caused my first attack. I didn't understand what was going on (was on the Champs Elysee with friend) so just drank a couple of bottles of water since I was thirsty & it went away. Since that I've found triggers to be: Sleeping on left side Caffeine (in drinks, not in chocolate) Dehydration And my favorite - no reason I can figure out at all. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a pulmonary embolism some years ago and they were freaked out that my oxygen was at 84. I can't imagine what they'd have done if it were 80. That is NOT a good number. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dehydration caused my afib in the first place. So I do my best to stay hydrated. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been on Coumadin for years now. I eat meat so can't talk about that aspect, but you mentioned dyes. I am prescribed 10 mg tablets because I was allergic to the dye in the 5mg tablets. When I first took those I broke out in hives all over my body. I looked everywhere online and finally found someone who had also been allergic to the 5mg tablets. I convinced my doc of this and got thby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Been on various GERD-related drugs since having afib. YEARS on some of them. No change in afib. Would have been nice. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
All I know is that being in the cold, breathing in cold air, can trigger afib for me, especially if I add a strenuous moment while in the cold. I know its not the same thing as a cold bath, but it would make me wary of trying it. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm on Sotolol, and it's been a godsend to me. But I don't have bradycardia or heart block. No med is for everyone and I agree with getting a consult with a good EP. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have sleep apnea but other things triggered my afib. But given that sleep apnea has so many other issues. I was never sleepy during the day, which is part of the test questions they ask you - however my sleep study showed that I needed a pretty high number from the machine - 19. You might want to consider having a sleep study just to make sure. Nancyby Nancy2 - AFIBBERS FORUM
