I am so glad to find this site. I have been bothered for years with Palpatations with no evidence of any problems recently it got worse and changed to what I call fluttering episodes. they don't last long at all mere seconds. I have been tested with event monitor, cardiolite stress test, echo just came back and the event monitor showed parasyomal afib. The cardiologist started talking meds and coumadin and I am saying wait a sec. he then set me up to see the epa specialist in the practice for his input. Is mine which happens about 4-5 times a month and is very fleeting something at this point I should treat? I have read of the people here who sound their episodes are far worse than mine. Just looking for direction any input appreciated.

If the heart tissue is otherwise normal I would do nothing. I have discussed a similar occurrence with my cardiologist and he feels it is normal. Docs who are ready to prescribe drugs for every aberration discovered are in my opinion, lazy and overreacting.

Debbie,

Read this post, for what you possibly could do, in regards to your doctor.

You might want to consider some of the diet and supplementation routines others here like Fran and Jackie are using. It might be possible you can prevent this from going into full-blown afib.

Hi Debbie:
As Kestra said above, you may be able to totally eliminate your brief "flutters" by diet changes and supplements. Read some of Fran and Jackies posts about such and the simple addition of Magnesium. I think almost everyone enjoys, at the very least, major improvements in afib frequency AND symptomatology. As a matter of fact, Fran has eliminated hers altogether with diet changes, and she was a serious fibber.

Be well, Debbie,
Pam
