I recently became acquainted with ConsumerLab.com testing which is a privately funded, independent testing lab that evaluates various health-related supplements and products. Be sure to visit their site and check the various boxes for a total overview of what they do. It’s important work. Like a Consumer's Reports but on health products.

The recent discussion about the use of Saw Palmetto brought this to mind and I wanted to be sure you checked out both the Consumer Lab info as well as the following information from this web page.

ConsumerLab.com, LLC ("CL") provides independent test results and information to help consumers and healthcare professionals evaluate health, wellness, and nutrition products. It publishes results of its tests online at www.consumerlab.com, including listings of brands that have passed testing.

Products that pass CL's testing are eligible to bear the CL Seal of Approval. CL addresses a growing need of consumers and healthcare professionals for better information to guide the selection of health, wellness, and nutrition products.

The founder is Tod Cooperman, M.D., President. Dr. Cooperman is a noted researcher, writer, and speaker on consumer healthcare issues.
Dr. Cooperman is also the Founder of PharmacyChecker.com (www.pharmacychecker.com), an evaluator of Internet pharmacies, and CareData Reports, Inc., a leading independent evaluator of consumer satisfaction with managed care (now a division of J.D. Power and Associates). Dr. Cooperman is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine.

On Saw Palmetto:

Quote from website:

" In any room full of men in their 50's, about half of them have BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) or other prostate problems. By 60, that ratio is about 60%--and it continues to increase roughly relative to our age.

So you aren't alone-not by a long shot. In fact, if you're experiencing any kind of prostate symptoms at all, you're in the majority. Whether it's minor difficulty urinating, or a decrease in flow, or a sense that you haven't emptied your bladder completely. Perhaps you've noticed an increased frequency of urination-especially at night.

Whatever your symptoms, know this: left untreated, serious prostate problems can lead to a whole host of painful, embarrassing, even deadly conditions. So it's crucial that you get all the facts-and know your options. Keep reading, because what you're about to find out is very important.”

True, NorthStar is selling a product called Prostate Defense – but what I wanted you to note was the information they provide about natural treatment of BPH....not necessarily their product.

Thank you very much for this website, Jackie. I've been there, subscribed, and have already done some reading. Very informative.
