coumadin and nattokinase

I am currently a card-carrying a-fibber. I have been on Cartia XT, and fleicanide but have been weaned from them. However, I still take horse doses of coumadin and I don't like that for a variety of reasons. I have done a lot of research on nattokinase (a fermented, boiled form of soy to which has been added an enzyme)and wonder if anyone out there has substituted coumadin with nattokinase and with what results. Thanks. By the way, this site (I am new to it) has been very helpful).

The nattokinase will be very high in free glutamate - which is an excitory neurotransmitter. You woud be better off substituting coumadin with things like fish oil, vitamin E, and eating garlic, ginger etc. These all act to keep your blood thin.

Fran (who had to give up all forms of free glutamate to stop AF)

Thanks for your advice. I do take all of the supplements you mention except ginger. But I believe that the CQ10 and magnesium I take may have a coagulating effect when interacting with coumadin. However, I will continue to experiment.
