ACUTUS AcQMap ablation guidance ?
April 30, 2019 10:29AM
Cardiac catheter ablations are certainly a high technology driven procedure. I have been
hearing a lot promoting the "next wave" of catheter ablation technology: non-contacting catheter
monitors and the superior heart (atrium) maps this monitoring can provide during ablation procedures.
In particular the ACUTUS AcQMap systems claim the most advanced results. Is this all commercial hype,
or are these particular systems a true breakthru which should be sought for from any ablation Cath Lab being
considered? Or, would it be prudent to wait [for ones personal ablation] for this latest technology generation to
be operational in various arrhythmia {Cath] clinics?

I would only say that operator skill matters WAY more than fancy equipment. When you opt for ablation you want the best doctor you can afford, not the best machine.

What wolfpack said. There are a number of mapping systems and EPs have their preferences, but in the end it's the doctor at the end of the catheter who matters, not the machine.
