Correlation of S-T Segment or T Wave Abnormalities and Arrhythmias
July 24, 2018 08:46PM
Hello all,

Just wondering if others that are experiencing afib, SVTs, PVCs, etc. have a history of abnormal ECGs, specifically with flattened T Waves or depressed S-T segments with no indication of ischemia or other heart diseases. I have had a flattened T Wave for the last 20 years that I know of and it seems things are slowly progressing down the line of me getting constant afib. I have only had one incident that i know of 2 years ago when my potassium dropped very low, which i know is a cause of flattened T Waves, but I have them even when my potassium is normal.

Just looking if anyone has any insight.

Thanks
Joe

Hmmm, i thought a U-wave can be an indication of hypocalemia?
What's your cardiologist's diagnosis?

There are many things that can cause T wave depression, ranging from completely benign to ominous. If you've had it for 20 years and your cardiologist is unconcerned then apparently it's benign in you. Not sure why you think it has anything to do with your afib, but I doubt it does.
