Just wondering if anyone is taking Niacin. I read a report on Dr Sinatra's site about the benefits for those of us who have CAD, along with AF.
Just wondering if it may interact with OACS (Eliquis)

Read a couple of sites that said dont take with blood thinners, but never know what is medically correct or proven when one's doing random browsing. I tend to favour the statements that agree with my thinking smiling smiley which is probably not a good way to go about it.

Thanks..

Kind Regards

Joy - if it's of any help, I first was on full dose Eliquis for about 18 months and then half dose Eliquis twice a day for the last couple years...and I've always taken a B complex supplement that contains 50 mg of Vitamin B3 along with other forms of B vitamins and, although, that's not a very high dose.

Niacin isn't known to interact with Eliquis. Interactions with common vitamins would become apparent quickly during drug trials, and certainly in after-market experience, so you can safely take (sane doses of) niacin.
