Sotalol and Bronchitis

Happy New Year.

I am in the minority of folks who tolerate sotalol, as I have been on it six months--that is, until I got a cold. This has really knocked me out--much worse than anyone else in my family. Thought I was getting over it last night, then it took another turn. I feel completely wiped out. (I'm 53) I am really wondering if the sotalol is the culprit here. Anyone hear of similar experiences, clinical evidence?

Thanks

Gary

I doubt there's a connection. It is a beta blocker, so it does induce some fatigue that a cold might exacerbate, but since you tolerate it well I doubt it would have the major effect you're describing.

Your subject line mentions bronchitis. Why? If you've developed a persistent cough and now have a sudden worsening of symptoms, you might want to visit with your PCP to rule out pneumonia.

Thanks for your reply. Some better, but will be getting checked out tomorrow.

I've been on Sotalol 2 years now - have had a slight cold in that time, but wasn't much and don't think the Sotalol mattered one way or the other.
