Are there any ablation specialists near Dr Natale's expertise you can recommend at the Mayo Clinic? I live close to Rochester MN

Nobody has done near the # of Ablations as Natale, last I heard it was over 8000. My EP Dr. who keeps up on Ablationists, said that Doug Parker at Mayo is one of the best respected Dr's in the Country. That is just one opinion from a source that I trust. You might call Mayo up and ask about their top Ablation Dr, how much experience he has, or go in and talk to them. It's been 3-4 years ago, but when I had the Conversation with my EP, he said that within EP Dr Circles, it is thought that although Natale's has done the most Ablations, his methods are not the most advanced.

Hi Libby,

'Please send me your cell number and time zone and I will try to ring you this week during normal daytime hours, My eye is gradually healing from my surgery a week ago last Monday and tomorrow (Monday Oct 9) I have my one week post surgery follow up meeting with my Eye surgeon so will see where it all stands then, but so far so good I feel sure.

I am not typing a lot yet though as they said my right eye worked on will be a bit dimmer than the left and a bit more blurry for a few weeks as everything heals up.

Gratefully the giant curtain-like floater that had significantly impaired my right eye vision the past year has completely disappeared from what I can tell so far so that is great as this was the while point of the surgery,.

Right now my right eye vision is like looking through fine grain orange peel or a watery wavy sensation to the world seen via that eye. Also I notice that looking at objects in the world there is a subtle blur and sense of tiny cracks as if everything in the world is seen via the right eye were it all is like a Rembrandt era old oil painting with tiny cracks. This will dissipate over the coming weeks I am told, but in the meantime typical small text on a phone or computer requires lots of squinting and causing mild headache so I'd rather talk than type for a bit longer.

Take care,
Shannon

PS you can send you contact info to my PM link beside my name just above in each post.

And Jake, if you are reading this too, please send me your cell and time zone as well so I can take a crack at addressing some of your questions as well. Look forward to catching up with you both!

I had my ablation competed By Dr. Thomas Munger at Mayo. I was chronic persistent AF. Have been AF free for 2 1/2 years now. I feel he did a phenomenal job. And, his caring demeanor, attentiveness, and willingness to spend time discussing my case were all above and beyond. Highest recommendation.
