Red Wheat Rice

It seems like the side effects from red wheat rice are about the same as statins for lowering cholesterol. Does anybody have a strong opinion or experience either way?

Think you mean red YEAST rice.

Here's what WebMD says about the side effects and comparison:

"What Are the Risks of Red Yeast Rice? Studies have shown that side effects are mild, like headaches, heartburn, and upset stomach. Side effects from prescription lovastatin include elevation of liver enzymes and muscle enzymes, muscle problems, and liver problems."

Look pretty different to me.
