Bacteriophages as Prebiotics?

Greetings and Happy New Year all!

I have a question about what appears to be a somewhat new trend in gut therapy, the use of bacteriophages. Life Extension has a produce with "Phage Technology." I see another produce on Amazon called "GutMeister," from Germany. Both are promoted as prebiotics, the latter as an (or the) "Ultimate Prebiotic." There are, of course, a number of web sites on the topic, for example.

I wonder if anyone in this forum has any knowledge of the safety and efficacy of these products. Given that they seem to be a kind of virus, I'm a tad nervous in trying them.
