I have never heard the subject before.
My blood tests were examined by designated aviation medical examiner and my cardiologist.
None mentioned the fact that my haemoglobin, HCT and RBC blood results were some points over the range.
A doctor friend told me I should have these results looked at so I went to a specialist professor who said this gives thicker blood which is not a good thing.
I have now had three phlebotomies over four weeks.
Next is a month away and then probably three months or more intervals depending on the results.
For younger people donating blood is the solution but my old blood is not wanted. The usual amount taken is about a third of a litre to half a litre.
I have good veins so it is a painless process but drink lots of water well before as well as before and after.
My partner tells me can I keep the blood as it is good for passion fruit and roses.
I am hesitant to ask the professor!
