Ben - can you be specific as to the form of magnesium you take and the dosage of both the magnesium and potassium? Jackie

Hi Ben,
This pulsating tinnitus could be related to an inner ear infection, congestion from an upper respiratory infection, fluid, wax, or possibly HBP. Once these factors are addressed, you may get some relief. However, there's really no cure for tinnitus caused by inner ear nerve damage and it gets worse as we age. I speak from over 50 yrs of having tinnitus after suffering severe ear infections as a teen.

cheers,
Ralph

Okay Ben - you might try pushing up the dose of both minerals just a bit more ...but back off promptly if you experience bowel issues, but that may help... unless it is an infection as Ralph offers. Jackie

its getting better now (without taking more mg ) perhaps it was due to some mental stress . I wait and see..
Ralph
is your tinnitus on both sides or on the side of the infected ear ?
best regards..

EarthClinic has a lot of tinnitus remedies. One of them uses ACV.
Apple Cider Vinegar.

Hi Ben,
I can remember having a bad infection in my left ear when I was about 12 accompanied by ringing. After the infection and congestion cleared, the tinnitus remained and got worse over the years. My left ear still has some limited hearing but most sounds are very garbled and overwhelmed by the tinnitus. My right ear is probably hearing at about 80% and has some tinnitus but its hard to tell how bad. A hearing aid helps my right ear but the left ear is too far gone. Sorry for the rambling but I guess my point is whenever you experience a hearing problem, it should be checked out by a specialist. An infection can cause irreversible nerve damage. Back in the day, the doctor was not called in too often and a home remedy of warm olive oil in the affected ear was granny's choice. Our hearing is a precious gift and should be protected at all times.
cheers,
Ralph

Ben,

Are you an avid cell phone user?

Good point, Hans. I know two people bothered by tinnitus and they are both heavy cell phone users. Of course, they are in total denial about the risks, although one said they'd consider using a Bluetooth headset arrangement. Jackie

The Bluetooth gadgets all have power and electronics as close or even closer than you hold your cellphone.

They have lower radiation than the actual phones but there are different levels of radiations among Bluetooth headsets as well. See below;

"Bluetooth devices are assigned to one of three power classes: 1, 2 and 3.

The radiation energy emitted by class 2 and 3 Bluetooth devices is weak and limited in range. Most of the Bluetooth applications used close to the body belong to one of these two power classes.

Bluetooth transmitters in the most powerful class 1 can cause exposure to radiation similar to that emitted by a mobile phone if they are operated in the immediate vicinity of the body.

The radiation exposure caused by Bluetooth devices in all three power classes is below the international recommended levels. The information currently available does not suggest that this radiation represents an immediate threat to health.
Precautions are unnecessary for Bluetooth devices in the lower power classes 2 and 3. Some mobile phones that use Bluetooth to access the Internet have class 1 transmitters. It is advisable to switch off the Internet connection when making phone calls with such devices to reduce the additional exposure of the head to radiation.

Nowadays Bluetooth hands-free headsets are also used as a precautionary measure to reduce exposure to radiation from mobile phones. Instead of the mobile phone, a Bluetooth transmitter that emits a far lower level of radiation is held to the ear during phone calls, thus reducing exposure of the head considerably."

So, thanks Gordon.

Then the Bluetooth issue is just more propaganda for not addressing the whole truth about the problems with cell phone (and other type devices) radiation and oxidative stress cell damage.

In a teleconference, one person likened the concern over standing near or being near a bunch of people all using cell phones or whipping out camera to take pictures during a performance, to second-hand smoke, which we now know is as damaging if not more so than actually smoking. Everyone on the subway is on the phone or texting. Everywhere you go, someone next to you is using something 'wireless' and while people are aware of second-hand smoke and it's frequently banned in restaurants and other public places, these electronic devices are not. Scary stuff.
